I understand being confused about job specific things like how to make a menu item or where certain things are kept, but I've had to teach grown adults basic everyday things that you'd do at home. Like wym you're an adult and didn't know you need hot water to clean dishes. Why am I teaching people over a decade older than me how to sweep the floor

Nah, I think my coworkers have this problem with me, but why are we trying to train new employees in a rush? I've been there 2 weeks and haven't learned a damn thing. Yes, people need hands on experience, but you are not training me by saying "do this" "do that", then getting mad when I don't know how to do this one specific thing. Look, I can count change, handle customers, sweep and mop, whatever. They're asking me to bag people's food when I never even knew the place existed until the job interview. I don't know what your chicken salad sandwich is or whether this other one is a turkey or chicken sandwich. This isn't all places, I'll say that, but can we stop with putting new hires in the position immediately? Can we do some videos on a tablet or read then answer questions? Anything?! Now I'm expected to know what their entire menu looks like, be able to handle drive thru, expo, lobby, and delivery all at once, AND know how to do the cooks job so I can help them in rushes. I can't learn like this!!! 😭
