I also suggest researching a list of set works that are used in schools. For example, I’m from South Africa and we have different levels of books that we read at different grades. Each one trains you to critically think. There are also study guides that help you to analyse books as well as essay topics (we get these in our exams every grade) to analyse both povs of the books. Another suggestion is look at the banned books list in America. Majority of those books teach you to analyse and think critically. One of my favourite books on that list is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Although the book was first published in 1960 southern America, it has key elements that we can still learn. I don’t want to give too much away but there is a reason this book was banned especially regarding the current racial tensions in USA
