OK, and who cares for these patients while they’re in isolation? Who feeds them? Who bathes them? Who change them? Who makes sure they take their meds? Are they confined to their bed in four-point restraints the whole time and if so, how are we going to prevent bedsores? How are we going to prevent sores from developing under the restraints?

Girl, you could never do my job and that’s ok 😂 but you have absolutely no say in what kind of care these patients receive either. These things are decided by a medical professional or case worker for a reason, and neglecting a dementia patient due to unsafe behavior is never going to be a decision that’s made. In fact in most states it is ILLEGAL and isolation is one of the tiers of neglect that we are taught. There are intervention systems in place and it is quite literally our job to know how to deal with these situations and that is what I am paid for. There is no place for punishment in healthcare, I took an oath and I take that seriously.
