It’s called backdraft. Thats is introducing oxygen into and enclosed and heated space where combustion is taking place. in this case the fire. 🔥. It’s the reason u should never fully close ur kitchen when u put on the stove

First mistake is putting your cylinder in the kitchen and not outside 💔

one of the burners was on already before he lighted another one but he didn't check so the gas from the other burner filled the place to create that so before you light them check the others if some are on

The kitchen was already filled with the gas before he even turn on the gas cooker. He was not sensitive to smell, he would have known. Secondly, poor ventilation

I was lucky in my case because I did something unusual and the safety training I got as an intern at AngloGold Ashanti Malaria Control limited help me. I had to baby site my nephew for the weekend to allow my brother travel. I went into the kitchen to cook but for some strange reason I turned on the fan in the kitchen and opened the window before turning on the lighter. I just felt a hot blue fire wave round me in like 5 seconds and it stopped. My nephew had earlier gone into the kitchen to play with the has cooker while I was busy watching football. He had turned on the games without my notice. I was saved because my safety instructor told us to first turn off the gas at the cylinder before first before turning off the stove. I did that earlier when i cooked, so gas that filled the room was what was left in the tube. If not that, I would have burnt the whole house, myself and my nephew. We all need some level of safety training.

As an engineer we neglect certain technologies like the smoke detector , fire extinguisher and the position of the cylinder which has to be placed outside the kitchen …. And sometimes a Designed chamber to hold the cylinder …. This atleast can minimise the fire out breaks

I'm also a victim but God being so good I didn't deform in anyway and my skin is gradually coming back to normal. Fire accident is extremely crazy and I pray no one should ever experience it. 50/50 chances of survival and even if you survive, you might not look the same again

Always make sure your kitchen is well ventilated so that in case there is gas leakage, the continuous flow of us into your kitchen will reduce gas saturation in the air thereby reducing the intensity of the flame should there be fire
