@outer_watch: TON 618 is a hyperluminous quasar powered by one of the most massive black holes ever discovered. Current estimates place its mass at roughly 40 billion times the mass of the Sun, although older calculations suggested values as high as 66 billion. Its event horizon would span hundreds of astronomical units — dozens of times wider than the orbit of Pluto. We were never supposed to get this close.
