Reusing good, plastic, single-use water bottles are so underrated. Best hack for hikes or outdoor activity where u don’t want a heavy bottle and don’t care about ur water staying cold

Hi. I lived in China in the early 2000’s and their water was not potable. A friend of mine and I both got dysentery at the same time. In the hospital, they determined that it was because when my friend would boil water to make us tea, she was only boiling for 2 minutes. We were told in the hospital that the water must be boiled for 10 minutes before it was safe to consume. Having said all of that, this was twenty years ago and in a place where information was being translated to us (though the hospital/doctors/translator were all very qualified and professional), so at this point, I wouldn’t stake my life on it. But I did want to pass that on in case we did understand correctly and nothing has changed since then.
