Don't forget you had 2 minutes when it was over to move to the next room and act f****** normal and we do because we're good at what we do but that s*** runs through our heads all day everyday and I really do believe people just don't get it and they're not going to 😔

THIS is being a nurse. No one understands why we stay late habitually and go silent at home and just can’t answer the phone or the door. We invest our lives in others and get nothing but criticism. One doctor on TikTok said healthcare is NOT a service industry even though families and administration thinks it is. It’s not first come, first serve, it’s who’s dying first….

I’m an LPN, I had a patient that was suicidal a few days ago. She asked for me to sit with her, she was crying. She had an autoimmune disease that the doctors are trying to get under control. I sat with her for 45 minutes. I told her she was so loved and wanted by her family, that I understood the strain her body was doing to her. I checked up on her any chance I got. I brought her something she wanted from the outside world. And she finally had some visitors come, she looked like a new woman.

the wail of a mother after her daughter drowned and the anger in the father because he didnt want to let her go on the canoe trip and they only spoke Chinese. Despite the language barrier I will forever remember every detail of that ER room that day. The one and only time I seen a very strong ER doc look like he was going to break. This is one of many that I remember from my years in the ER.

In the OR. A ruptured AAA. Blood running off the table, down their pants, all over their shoes and the floor. Bloody footprints everywhere from the staff that wasn’t scrubbed. Couldn’t get the bags of blood in fast enough. He died the next day.

ive looked at many people who we begging me not to let them die. i truly have trauma from nursing. i now work in the nicu, resuscitating babies at delivery. the panicked families is the hardest.
