One thing life is teaching me is that you have to learn to forgive yourself just as much as you learn to forgive other people. ❤️‍🩹 We’ve all made mistakes. We’ve all had moments when we could have done better, said something differently, or treated someone with more love and understanding. Sometimes we look back at our past and wish we could change certain things, but the truth is, we can’t go back and rewrite yesterday. All we can do is learn from it, grow through it, and become better people moving forward. Forgive yourself for the person you were when you didn’t know what you know today. Forgive the people who hurt you, not because what they did was okay, but because you deserve the peace that comes with letting go. And if someone you love, whether it’s your parents, siblings, family, or a close friend, has made mistakes along the way, try to find room in your heart for understanding, too. None of us has life completely figured out. Remember, your parents are human beings, too. Before they became your parents, they were people trying to understand life for the very first time, just like you are now. They had dreams, fears, struggles, disappointments, and mistakes of their own. They didn’t receive a perfect manual on how to raise a child. In many ways, they were learning as they went, doing the best they could with what they knew and what they had at the time. So, if you still have your parents, love them while you can. Be patient with them. Call them. Spend time with them. Listen to their stories, even the ones you’ve heard a hundred times. Don’t let pride, anger, or old disagreements steal the moments you could still share together. One day, you may wish you had just five more minutes to hear their voices. And to anyone carrying pain from their family or their past, I want you to remember that forgiveness doesn't mean pretending nothing happened, and it doesn't mean allowing people to keep hurting you. You can forgive someone and still have boundaries. You can love someone and still protect your peace. Life is too short to spend every day chained to yesterday. Heal from what happened. Take responsibility for what you did. Give grace where you can, accept the lessons life has taught you, and never stop becoming a better version of yourself. We’re all experiencing this life for the first time. Your parents are learning, your children will be learning, and so are you. Let’s be a little kinder to one another. Let’s love our people while they’re still here, apologize when we’re wrong, forgive when our hearts are ready, and never take the people we love for granted. Because at the end of the day, none of us is perfect. We’re just human beings trying to figure it all out. ❤️🙏🏽 #michaelbjordan #unitedstates #fypシ #michaelbjordan
