im a foster child myself sinds I was 8 (im now 18) and I think this is the best way to do it. I speak from experience, I lived in 3 different foster family's and 3 group homes.

Yo as someone who wasn’t taught to regulate as a child now having to teach myself, my son and my husband, I’m tired but like the alternative scares me to be like my own parents. So kudos to you for doing this cuz I know exactly how hard a choice to do this is. And you’re right, well regulated kids are less volatile. Same for adults but thats a whole other can of worms…👀👀👀

I don't see what the issue is? people might be thinking about kids online they see and how it's a result of gentle parenting... but you can do gentle parenting and have a kid that's respectful.. it really matters how you do it. anyway I think this is great!! expecially for foster kids! (because they tend to need this more!) (I also know you said you would do this either way to biological kids or not) either way though. for example let's say you had an autistic kid. punishment would make it WAY worse. if your kid is struggling to regulate, punishing them is making it even worse. talking to them and helping them through it IS BY FAR BETTER. and if you were to "punish" them what would you do that actually "works" hurting them is NOT OKAY. verbally too. taking away things DOES NOTHING other then make them resent you. and maybe I guess taking away privileges like going to a friend's or something like that would make more sense but it's still not the best way to learn... I get it can change based of circumstances
