@_datdeptrais1tg: At the UEFA Euro 2000 finals, Alessandro Nesta was a key figure in helping the Italian national team reach the final. Under the guidance of coach Dino Zoff, he—alongside Paolo Maldini and Fabio Cannavaro—formed one of the most legendary, solid, and artistic *Catenaccio* defensive lines in world football history. The art of defending: At the age of 24, Nesta displayed a masterful defensive style characterized by an exceptional ability to read the game, intelligent defensive coverage, and perfectly timed tackles executed without committing fouls. Jersey number: At Euro 2000, Nesta wore his signature number 13 shirt. The historic semi-final against the Netherlands: This match showcased the Italian defense at its peak. After Gianluca Zambrotta was sent off in the 34th minute, Nesta and his teammates heroically withstood relentless attacks from the Dutch hosts for 120 minutes, despite conceding two penalties (both of which the Netherlands missed). Italy ultimately won 3-1 on penalties to advance to the final. A heartbreaking final: Facing France for the title, Italy led 1-0 until the very last seconds of the second half before Sylvain Wiltord equalized for France. In extra time, David Trezeguet scored the decisive golden goal, denying Nesta and Italy's "Golden Generation" the championship in a bitterly disappointing fashion. #nesta #alessandronesta #maldini #cannavaro #zidane
