@akad_technology: Apple just made an entire category of apps redundant. Save this for the next group dinner. Bill splitting apps exist because splitting a check was annoying. iOS 27 put that inside Wallet, and here is how it actually works: You cover the full check, then photograph the receipt. Wallet reads the line items so you can assign dishes to specific people instead of dividing by four. It adds each person's share of tax and tip, then sends Apple Cash requests. They approve from Messages or their Apple Watch. You can start it from Wallet, from Messages, or by pointing your camera at the receipt in the new Siri mode. The limits worth knowing before you rely on it: Apple Cash is US only, so this does not work abroad Everyone at the table needs Apple Cash actually set up, not just an iPhone Receipt scanning needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer It settles one bill at a time and does not carry a running balance, so roommates splitting rent over months should keep Splitwise That last one is the real trade. Splitwise is a ledger. Apple is a checkout. If your problem was remembering who owed what, Splitwise already solved it. If your problem was actually collecting, Apple just solved the harder half. This is what getting Sherlocked looks like. A whole shelf of apps built on one annoying problem, and the operating system quietly absorbs it. Venmo, Cash App and Splitwise all just lost a reason people opened them. Send this to the friends you eat with, because it only works if they have Apple Cash turned on. What is the longest anyone has taken to pay you back? #ios27 #apple #splitwise #applecash #techmadesimple
