Filipino Chicken BBQ (Inihaw na manok) Serves: 4–6
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Marinate: Overnight
Cook Time: 15–20 minutes Ingredients For the chicken & Skewers • 2-3 lbs Chicken Thighs deboned and cut in 4ths • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for at least 2 hours BBQ Marinade • 1 cup ketchup (banana or tomato) • ½ cup soy sauce • ¼ cup calamansi juice (or lemon/lime juice) • ½ cup Sprite or 7Up • 8 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tsp garlic powder • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper • 1 tsp kosher salt BBQ Glaze • 1 cup ketchup • 1 tbsp soy sauce • 30g (about 2 tbsp) brown sugar • 3 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tsp black pepper • 1 tsp kosher salt Instructions 1. Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl or ziplock bag, combine all marinade ingredients. Add the chicken and mix well to coat. Cover and marinate in the fridge overnight. 2. Prepare the Skewers
Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 2 hours to prevent burning. Thread the marinated chicken pieces tightly onto the skewers. Try your best to cover the chicken with the skin. This helps protect the chicken meat from overcooking. Packing them closely helps keep the meat juicy during grilling. 3. Make the Glaze
In a bowl, mix together all glaze ingredients until well combined. No need to cook—this glaze will caramelize directly on the grill. 4. Grill the BBQ
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Grill the chicken skewers for 12–15 minutes, turning every 4–5 minutes for even cooking. 5. Glaze and Finish
Raise the heat to medium-high. Brush the skewers with the glaze and grill for another 1–2 minutes per side, letting the glaze slightly caramelize. Apply a second coat for extra flavor and color. 6. Serve

Sourate al fatiha Bismi Allāhi Ar-Raĥmāni Ar-Raĥīmi Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna Ar-Raĥmāni Ar-Raĥīmi Māliki Yawmi Ad-Dīni 'Īyāka Na`budu Wa 'Īyāka Nasta`īnu Ihdinā Aş-Şirāţa Al-Mustaqīma Şirāţa Al-Ladhīna 'An`amta `Alayhim Ghayri Al-Maghđūbi `Alayhim Wa Lā Ađ-Đāllīna La sourate El Fatiha, que l’on peut traduire littéralement par Le Prologue ou L’Ouverture est la première sourate en position dans le Coran, juste avant sourate El Baqara (La Vache). Elle est l’une des plus petites sourates du Saint Coran avec 7 versets. Malgré sa taille, elle revêt un caractère d’une haute importance puisqu’elle est une invocation, un échange entre le croyant et son Seigneur et bien-sûr, l’une des conditions à l’acceptation de la prière du musulman. Une révélation particulière pour une sourate grandiose Celle que l’on appelle, parmi ses nombreux noms, La Mère du Coran, Le Prologue, ou les Sept répétés puisque les croyants la répètent au moins cinq fois par jour et tous les jours, a été révélée à La Mecque. Dans une parole prophétique rapportée par Ibn Abbas ( un des Compagnons du Prophète Mohamed ) : l’ange Jibril se trouvait auprès de Mohamed, l’Envoyé d’Allah, que la paix et le salut soient sur lui, quand celui-ci entendit un bruit venant d’au-dessus de lui. Jibril leva les yeux au ciel et dit : « C’est une porte du ciel qui s’est ouverte et elle ne l’a jamais été auparavant. » Un ange descendit et vint trouver le prophète et lui dit : « Réjouis-toi de recevoir deux lumières que nul prophète avant n’a reçues. Elles sont la sourate de L’Ouverture et les derniers versets de la sourate El Baqara (La Vache).
