Despite titling the interview “I don’t want your acceptance” #EJJohnson’s interview with #CarlosKing came off extremely performative. The unfortunate recurring theme appeared to be EJ overcompensating by putting others down. That said, the interview’s objective was not achieved despite being pretty straightforward: showcase the freedom and bravery of shirking societal expectations and living as your true self loud & proud. Unfortunately, the core messaging was diluted by curating a competitive edge by which EJ felt dominant and most comfortable over women. While EJ might be privileged enough to evade the consequences being so flippantly arrogant towards others, most of EJ’s community and most people in general cannot. At the end of the day the interview was divisive and I don’t think their objective was achieved but let me know what you think in the comments. **NO BIGOTRY OR HATE SPEECH WILL BE TOLERATED IN THE COMMENTS
