@haleyschuler8: Learning how to put Scleral lenses in (& now having to do it every morning) may just be the death of me. This is insanity 😂 #scleralenses #eyes #contacts #eyedoctor
We got our scleral lenses from the same place. I have not gotten mine yet still doing fitting but what do they give you to go home with the contacts.

I had a hard time putting mine in and just using the tool they gave me. I went on Amazon they have a holder that holds the tool you put your lenses on and it has a light so you focus on that when you go to put them on and you just have to focus on holding your eye open not on holding your eye and the tool.

I wear these and I PROMISE it gets so much easier. The mirror is a great trick try looking at your reflection and not the liquid. In a week you will be able to do it no problem

I’m not familiar with these. Why can’t they be inserted/taken out like contacts?

This was me for regular contacts as a grown adult 😂 failing over and over. I decided the people that work in insertion & removal are the most patient people on earth.

i’ve been wearing them for 2 years and it does get better! i hold the top and bottom of my eye with one hand and hold the lens and plunger in the other. also making sure you’re fully bent over the lens and parallel to the floor helps! good luck 😊

Invest in some of these!! They are doubled sides remover/inserters, so much easier only need one tool! I thought I’d never be able to get them in and out and felt hopeless but now it’s second nature!!

What about holding you top eyelid? I used to have to do that with regular contact lenses until I was able to not blink

Do you have to wear them? Like can you not just use only glasses? If it were me I’d be like I’m not messing with all that🤣

You can get a stand that holds the plunger with the lens that sits stationary on the counter and you can use both hands to hold your eye lids open, so much easier.

Hi scleral lens user. I find it easier to put them in by forcing my bottom and top lid open at the same time with my thumb holding the bottom and my index finger holding the top lid. But it comes with a lot of practice you got this!

Did you all that have these already have cornea transplants done? My son needs transplants in both eyes for this, and was told lenses would do nothing for him, only a transplant would help.

If you can see well with them let them know that’s what I did. Also apparently it depends on how bad your keratoconus is you might not get 20/20 vision. I sent mine back because I was seeing ghosting even though it was 20/20 so I asked them to fix it. If I am paying that much for lenses I need to be able see as crisp as possible

Her saying “I love helping people see” is so sweet. Love that she had patience with you I can’t imagine how tricky this is to get ahold of!

Make sure to hold both the top and bottom lid open . Having full control of your eyelids is KEY to sclerals lenses ! Never fails with any of my trainings :)

I wear them and the only way I can get them in(I’m new still) is to hold BOTH eyelids open with my left hand as close to the lash line as you can get. It’s awkward but it’s the only way

I love my scleral lenses! I promise it does get easier & you will get use to them! I hold my top & lower eyelids open with the opposite hand that I’m putting it in with! You definitely want to hold your eyelids open as much as possible to help get them in easier!

This is such a real feel!!! I stopped wearing them because I thought they weren’t comfortable. I was able to find soft lenses again in my strength! (-13.50)

Highly recommend a stand! I use an upside down funnel from the dollar tree and put the plunger in that! It also helps to cut a hole in the plunger so the light goes through and you know where to look.
