Just don’t answer the calls. If you never engage, many collectors eventually stop calling. Download Credit Karma and dispute the item over a holiday period if you want to challenge it. Once you file a dispute, the credit bureau generally has 30 days to investigate and the furnisher must respond within that timeframe under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If they don’t verify the information, the item will be removed.

OK, so I took out a mortgage with one lender that lender sold it to another lender does that mean I don’t owe the second lender anything because I never agreed on my mortgage being sold

I’ve tried that and they keep calling sometimes eight 8 times a day and tell me the same thing every time that I have to email them and then they will email me that information and then they get rude so I hang up and block the number only for them to call me from a different number

we are dealing with a shady collector. they say we owe a debt I know we don't. it's nowhere on my credit report or my husband's. our last dealing with the original company was before COVID--no longer even collectible in our state even if we did owe them money. so far all they are doing is texting but it's sooo annoying.
