you need to stabilise the top of the VOT. that wobble when it spins will eventually wear out the gears and/or break the VOT

should add a stabilizer shaft to the turbine

Seems it wobbles a little. you Must improve it

I think it would be better if it also had some kind of vertical stabilization from a bearing on the other ends of the blades. It looked like it was wobbling a lot.

you losing energy to that wobble you should put a brass axel in it, you could take it from a emulsion blender, it’d be right around the right size

gears was a mistake, especially in 3d printing. material strength and wear is going to kill thing fast. plus, you're meant to be increasing the rpm, not reducing it 😁👍

I would have made a bigger gear for the turbine and a smaller wheel for the generator so you get more rotations and more chargw

i currently have some solar panels for my weather station, but i think it would be fun to add a wind turbine, what is the thing that is connected to thr stepper and how is it wired?

have you found a limit for the wind speed it can handle?

Mr.longdock :
put a metal shaft through the printed fans and attach ball bearings around the rod that connects it to the base

If you had a stainless or titanium vertical spindle (and frame to support the spindle) you'd be able to support it top and bottom which would make it much more stable, long lasting and potentially more efficient on larger stacks.

this is the FUTURE; while we rescale society to more sustainable infrastructure, personal use energy savers and quality of life supplemental technology will literally save lives! if every household uses 10+ small scale ecotech (wind powered battery revival, brick wall for passive cooling/shading of the home, small scale solar lighting, etc) then a larger portion of society will not only survive, but thrive in the new sustainable society model. bro, just this ONE product is revolutionary. instant follow, bravo!

try a lilly impeller, it's one of the more efficient shapes I've seen for a wind generator
