i don’t hate argentina.🇦🇷 in the last month the amount of hate against argentina has honestly surprised me so much. i’m not going to sit here and act like it’s not a bit warranted with the way numerous argentinians go out of their way to be anti-black, anti-indigenous, etc all because of a SPORT, but the way people are talking about a global south country in defense of the united states and europe is so jarring to me. argentina has a population of over 40 million people. no, not all argentinians are white. no, most argentinians are not german descendants, they’re mostly spanish and italian descended. hundreds of thousands of indigenous and afro-argentinians exist. argentina has one of the most open border policies in the americas and in the broader west. even though i studied argentina and know several argentinians, i’m not going to sit here and deny the experience of brown and black people that have interacted with them, but in the same way i wouldn’t want a non-american to judge the US because of trump is the same way i wouldn’t want an entire country in latin america to be judged off a psychopath like milei. there are so many reproductive rights activists (let’s not forget argentina is home to some of the most impactful feminists in the western hemisphere), gay rights activist, pro-palestinr, afro-argentinian activists, indigenous activists, etc. i hope my message is clear and not just trying to play switzerland because im not. two things can be true at once. i know the history of argentina and how many argentinians spit out the most insane stuff ever, but that’s not how the majority think and this wave of hate against a latin american country is insane and i don’t like it….especially coming from latinos in the US that don’t do anything to fight back against trump and our current president. #argentina #latino #hispanic videos and creators i referenced: @Gen-Z X El Cambio @manilu 🗽 @Lunfarda Travel 🇦🇷 @Alma
