The way Jesse only ever calls Walt by his name twice feels so so deliberate. He still sees Walt as a teacher. As a higher authority. He may not always agree with Walt, but be almost always obeys in the end. To the point of killing a fly for him, then the darker steps of killing a man. One of my friends mentioned he felt if Jesse was a girl, Walt might even have tried something considering his weird dialog about teenage girls in the first episode and him harassing the principle in season 3. Though, personally, I feel like Walt would've never teamed with Jesse if he was a girl because he's lowkey misogynistic
