@faithfulqueen_1: Living with fibromyalgia has changed my life in so many ways, and I'm still learning every day. 💜 To my fellow fibro warriors... what has made your daily life easier? It could be a product, medication, therapy, routine, mobility aid, supplement, or even a simple habit that helps you get through the day. Be kind to yourself. Find out what causes triggers and address that, if you can. Find your own rhythm - sleep during day if you can’t fall asleep at night. Accept meds can relieve to some extent, but not cure, so stop chasing a miracle pill, potion or whatever, but do full pharmocogenetic study to find out which meds will in any case not work for you based on your genes. Eat naturally: no processed or junk food, nothing. Careful with sugar, wheat, dairy. Cold or heat will hurt you - mild temps best. Don’t sit or lie still for hours - get up and move around a bit, mild movement is better than not moving at all. Accept friends will not understand and leave, and don’t blame yourself. Find something that brings you joy and focus on that intentionally when the pain gets too much. Allow yourself to grief and mourn and cry and complain, but make sure the time you focus on anything else but your pain is more… Allow yourself to be slow - to walk slowly, to take more time to get ready, don’t get mad when you drop things and rather laugh at yourself. Humour - that helps a lot. Don’t expect others to understand and don’t reject them for not being the person you know you would’ve been for them had the roles been reversed. In the end it is a choice how you will walk through the fire once you chose to live…and forgive.

Give yourself grace. Be gentle on yourself. Support braces, heating pads, migraine cool hats, rest, fluids, electrolytes, do tasks at 40% 50% instead of 100%.

Understand that you have to give yourself grace and keep moving no matter how much it hurts. When I have flare ups I take a bath, as hot as I can stand it and stay in there as long as you can. I am so sorry you ended up with this horrible autoimmune disease. Physio helps with hips and so does deep tissue massage. Pregablin does help take the edge off.

When you’re having a good day don’t overdo it by doing all the things, flare could set you back weeks or even months:(

Lyrica, it’s a pretty contentious medication, I’d tried literally everything else, my rheumatologist prescribed it as a last resort and it was literally life changing for me!

understand that you can only do what your body allows you to do. don't apologize for your limitations. Sonder. no one knows what you're living through, everything is relative.

You need to keep as active as you can. Otherwise you’ll seize up and then it becomes harder to manage the pain in my opinion

Heat packs that are air activated and adhere to your clothing NOT your skin. You can get extra hot ones and they last for up to 12 hours. Absolute game changer. unfortunately not much help if you get allodynia as a side effect of fibro. I have my chronic migraines as well as fibro flaring at the moment so I have allodynia affecting the right side of my face and most of my arms and back as well as the pain from both consitions. Still trying to figure out how to ease allodynia pain 😭

We’re all so different but what I will say is , you matter first . There’s only one if you , unseen pain & exhaustion doesn’t mean you have to pretend you’re ok . Rest when you need to , regroup do what ever works for you . Keep your inner thoughts in check . My miserable self I have named 😂that nagging voice that says “ you’re useless, miserable “ etc is called Susan . I just say shut up Susan , even outloud . Makes me hoot with laughter . Even when I’m crying , fed up , in pain etc etc . Keep going celebrate the wins 🙌❤️🥰🙏xxx

pacing - the dishes/laundry/housework/whatever you think needs to be done can WAIT. don't try to be a super hero when you're not in a flare, it'll kick your ass later. lastly, NAPS are your best friend.

weighted blanket and electric heating blanket (in fall/winter especially), don't overdo it on "good" days or you will pay for it in the following days, epsom salt baths

Go at your own pace, don’t let anybody tell you that you’re lazy. It’s a vicious cycle of pain and feeling hopeless. Wishing you luck.

Rest when you have to- don’t worry about anyone else’s expectations or opinions-they don’t live with our illness and have no idea how this impacts every aspect of our lives💜
