So um actually Sirius found out about regulus’s plan and sent kreacher to rescue him while the marauders were also there to help once kreacher got him out of the water but regulus lost the forearm with the dark mark during his struggle in the water but he survived and technically got rid of all physical connections to Voldemort and lived in hiding also Peter never snitched and they destroyed all the horcruxes and defeated Voldemort before Harry was even born and they all lived happily ever after and the Weasleys, Malfoys and Potters raised their children as friends so yeah
