Sharing my friends story to show support and hopefully help someone else along the way❤️‍🩹 Malek Folston was misdiagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and ultimately had to undergo a double leg amputation. He’s been through more than most people could ever imagine, but he’s still fighting, healing, and getting stronger every day. 🫶🏽 I am sharing his story to raise awareness for Type 1 diabetes and to remind people to advocate for yourself. Ask questions. Get a second opinion. Speak up when something doesn’t feel right. You know your body better than anyone. Not every experience in the medical system is perfect, and sometimes you have to be your own advocate.
