Hi babe melasma definitely needs a tinted spf. Use one with decent coverage and 50 spf! I love the Colorescience ones but you could do any tinted SPF!

niacinimide 1000%. my mom had them for 20+ years after her first child and they only went away when she started using it religiously

chemical peels and microneedling. it’s too hot right now for it though. The sun will fry your skin if you do it now unless you protect it religiously, even when you’re inside.

With 35+ years of clinical skincare under our belt, we can say with confidence that 1. It’s probably your hormones and 2. A stabilized Vitamin C serum and a daily SPF will be your BFFs. Look for a serum with Tranexamic Acid & follow-up with a night-time retinol routine. This approach will help with stubborn discoloration and overall texture 💚

Obagi(hydroquinone), tret, & azealic acid, laser (clear and brilliant)…. It never truly goes away, but you can lighten it and being in the sun/heat will reactivate it…If you’re on birth control pills, I would see if you can switch to a lower dose because that’s what triggered mine…

sometimes its hormones and genetics too unfortunately, even with diligent spf usage :( but vitamin c serum and niacinamide-based products could help remove the pigmentations faster!

I was just diagnosed with this too at my derm. he said you HAVE to wear tinted sunscreen bc it has titanium oxide in it and that’s the only thing that protects melasma from getting darker?! he also said to get cyspera pigment corrector system. it’s like 3 steps and $300 😫
