Check with the council if there are restrictions on the type of fence as some areas are restricted in changing the type of material and height of the fence. If there are no restrictions in your area, goodby light.

we have some weird laws in UK, and luckily for you one of them is ‘right to light’. get straight on the council to sort that out bc there’s absolutely no way that’s a legal extension

Nope definitely against planning laws. I think all building within a certain distance of the boundary would need planning permission and boundary wall permissions
