Nobody should fuck with Shakespeare and the original plays. They are testament to a time that we no longer live in and I'm here for that. Aside from that, actors should be paid fairly, yes.

Just on the Shakespeare thing… In Shakespeare’s time, the public acting companies were made up entirely of male performers. Adult men played the male roles, and adolescent boys whose voices had not yet broken typically played the female roles. Women did not perform on the public stage in England during Shakespeare’s lifetime.

I too studied Romeo & Juliet, watched the films, saw the plays, discredit Shakespeare's prose line by line, wrote essays about the love story, and answered an entire exam on the play... yet I'm still queer.

I feel like the message spread by some liberals of "gay people aren't hurting you by what they do in their private lives" has given homophobes leverage to come up with rhetoric like this (eg they're forcing it on people by not keeping it private). It needs to be paired with "being queer is inherently not a bad thing". As false as it is to say that kids are being indoctrinated, even if they could be, kids being (or "becoming") gay isn't bad.
