Does anyone know how long the extra-long metal roof panels in this video are? This is a large steel industrial building currently under construction. The main steel frame has already been completed, and the roofing system is now being installed. You may notice that these extra-long roof panels are not lifted directly by the crane. Instead, a dedicated lifting beam is suspended below the crane hook, allowing the panels to be lifted from multiple lifting points. The reason is simple. Because the roof panels are extremely long, lifting them directly could cause bending or deformation due to uneven loading, and may even affect the final installation quality. Using a dedicated lifting beam with multiple lifting points distributes the load more evenly and provides better protection for the roof panels during transportation and installation. To be honest, whenever site conditions allow, I would rather use a mobile roof panel roll forming machine to produce extra-long roof panels directly on the roof. It not only improves construction efficiency but also reduces the risks associated with lifting long roof panels.
