This happened in the 60s and 70s so dont say its GEN X BS you have no idea what classroom punishment was then unless you lived it and they didn't do this anymore after 1973-74.

I recall kids in class getting hands hit with teachers ruler.also holding books in each hand. if hands fall they had to hold them up longer.
