Yeshua reframes inheritance not as conquest but as trust in divine justice. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Righteousness (tzedakah) in Jewish understanding includes justice, faithfulness&covenant loyalty. To hunger for righteousness is to crave God’s order in the world. The imagery suggests deep desire—not casual interest but urgent longing. Yeshua promises satisfaction to those whose deepest appetite is for God’s will. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” Mercy (chesed) stands at the heart of Torah. The God of Israel reveals Himself as abundant in lovingkindness. Those who reflect that mercy participate in His character.
