@noxsoxx: Replying to @mela_kaye asking you to have intellectually honest discussions about your prejudices it's not an infringement of your consent. #gay #bisexual #xyz #fyp #lgbtq
Not too long ago, Doechii said that she doesn’t date straight men and only dates bi men as a bi woman. So with this logic, is she heterophobic?

the comment they made is ironic considering they demonstrated not being allies at all when we asked them to take a look at those feelings and unpack them, and they jumped to "oh so you're a rapist"

I think they are acting like this for two reasons, 1) they actually DO want to force people to change their preferences or 2) they HATE the idea that they can be oppressors or uphold harmful systemic rhetoric because they thought that they was "a good person". But a "good person" wouldn't be so reluctant to self reflection and introspection.

As a trans man I gave up on straight cis women years ago. Somehow I actually feel more secure around men lmao

Exactly this. no one's expecting them to change their dating preferences. all we're asking is that they examine if the reasons for those preferences are bigoted, and if they are to examine how they treat that group outside of the datinging sphere. because if the reason you refuse to date bi men is because you think that they're less of a man for being bisexual, you can't tell me that that is not affecting the way you treat them in day to day life....ffs it isnt hard

This is the most frustrating thing for me. Like for the most part straight women were fine with all these discourses about men’s preferences being rooted in harmful though (rightfully btw) but as soon as it came to them they freaked out. Like either they’re fair weather “it benefits me it’s good” types or they actually did want to force men to abandon their preferences entirely not just examine them and this is a self report. Idk at this point.

I've come to a conclusion seeing all these women responding on this matter: a lot of people want to be obeyed, not understood.
that's sad they cling to '' I said so and I will not explain''

This is the explanation I needed. It's exactly what I thought. Idc what or who they've done before me as long as when theyre with me theyre wirh me as I'd expect from any partner of any gender or sexuality, unless it was a lavender relationship. that would need negotiating I think.

i just assumed people who are claiming to be allies would… idk, not want to be biphobic? and would be grateful for being told that something theyre doing is unintentionally rooted in that concept. maybe i hope for too much from people.

you know what, when you made the very first point about body types, i think the answer might've actually been yes. that might be why they are reacting like this.

Like one woman went “I don’t find queer ppl or queer intercourse disgusting it’s just a turn off if the man I’m dating partakes in that” like doesn’t that fall under a category of “disgust”? If queer ppl and intercouse don’t disgust you then it should be a neutral reaction you’re not supposed to be turned on or off.. and they compared this to a man who’s into BDSM 😭

They understand thr concept of "preferences aren't made in a vacuum" when a black man crows on a podcast about how he 'prefers' lightskin women because they're "prettier", but now that it's THEIR asses in the hot seat they wanna act dense all of a sudden 😂💯

Literally the whole argument boils down to: bi folk, queer folks, and Allies “hey so like don’t spread this harmful rhetoric. The language you use to describe this preference is rooted in bigotry” and the people in question are deciding to just double down on their bigotry. It’s getting so old 😭😭😭

Women literally were having conversations about men TWICE over body count and black men fetishizing white women. And ALLL the men were making the same exact arguments as the straight women and the bi discourse. PPL TO THIS DAY are still having conversations about body count and how the “preference” is predatory and rooted in misogyny but they want to double down on their cognitive dissonance when it comes to have some introspection into their biases in dating and queer ppl.

Straight women: IT'S NOT ABOUT WHO YOU CHOOSE TO SLEEP WITH. We don't want y'all to deconstruct your biases so that you'll go on to date a bi person. We want y'all to deconstruct your biases because, even if you think it doesn't, your attitudes about queer people DO and WILL bleed into how you treat other queer people in your life, and if you were really an ally you'd care about that instead of immediately getting defensive and accusing us of saying something we quite literally never said.

I wouldn't date someone who is fat. I can acknowledge that there may be fatphobia behind that preference without pretending that I'm obligated to date people I'm not attracted to.
But that doesn't give me a free pass to go online and publicly dehumanize fat people, make generalizations about them, or act as if my personal preference proves something about their worth.
And if people called me fatphobic for expressing those views, that wouldn't mean they were forcing me to date fat people. Criticism of a prejudice is not coercion into dating the group you're prejudiced against.
I think the same distinction can be applied here. No woman is obligated to date bisexual men. You can have the freedom to choose who you date while still being responsible for the prejudice you express and how you treat the people affected by it.

Overall, my biggest issue with this discourse is the hypocrisy from cis het woman , because how can you guys understand that someone’s “preferences “ can be rooted in bigotry, personal biases, and harmful ideology but you can’t understand that your “preferences” can be also rooted in bigotry/bias as well ?
