YO. going well out of the way to make things more miserable and stupid just because is not resiliency training, you are just increasing the wear and tear physically and mentally and eroding trust for the people you are trying to train. its like telling people to run barefoot on broken glass then being surprised that everyone is now injured and hates you. sure, pain tolerance is important (comfortable with uncomfortable) but it needs to be both reasonable and applicable.

Unpopular opinion: The army shouldn’t complain about soldiers not being tough enough or skilled enough if when a soldier requests more training or opportunities the reply is “it’s not in the budget”
