Phrolova is an awful counter example bc no other character has been responsible for almost letting a threnodian win and almost killing them. Theres so many other examples of people theyve shared deeper moments with even in 1.0, jinshi, jiyan, carlotta, SHOREKEEPER, canterella, CARTHETYIA, etc. Hell even yangyang sister has better moments because its not being shoved down our throats. This comes really out of left field when last story patch it seemed like rover didnt give af when Denia either banished or genuinely killed herself to protect sigrika, rover and all of solaris from aleph and yet now the normally cold and distant rover is acting lovey dovey. And no the implications of sending letters doesnt help bc its called story telling for a reason, why even put it in if its not going to really do anything or come up until right when its needed. Hell they couldve done what they did with Aemeth and have her send items or asterites through ingame mail to so we build a connection. Just feels like first girl syndrome just like in FGO and Mash except even thats better bc Mash has been Ritsuka's literal day 1 and has going through 11 singularities, and 7 lostbelts, as well as 4 ordeal calls as well as a shit ton of events.

Didn't play Denia's story yet but in Phrolova's quest it's different from what you've said In Phrolova's quest he saw some of her flashback and most importantly he saw their whole interaction both in her diaries and when it happened The reason he was cold during that day was because he was doubting these memories not knowing if they are true or fake made by her to manipulate him and still in lahai roi he hinted multiple times how he still feels like this was true and shows deep regret especially when an old npc asked him what is his regret he said that he couldn't keep a promise and in luuk's quest he showed great regret for every promise he couldn't keep because of his memory and every person he forgot ending up hurting them
