As a japanese / language teacher, we correct pronunciation, NOT accent. Slight accents that do not interfere with communication are just part of your identity and that’s something to be proud about. Specially when your identity is a badass polyglot who speaks SEVEN languages 😌💖 You rock girl. I speak four and I wanna be like you. Hahaha

i notice the only ones that would make fun of someone’s accent are monolinguals 🤧🤧 most multilinguals know how hard and humiliating it is to speak another language so we are less likely to make comments like that. they are sooo jealous

Bro other “Japanese” people say I have a weird accent and therefore can’t say I’m Japanese. I speak a specific dialect and Japanese is my third language. 😭

But there is nothing wrong with an accent when speaking Japanese. I moved to Hokkaido when I was 9 and Japanese is my 4th language. I still have a bit of an accent but no one ever says anything about it except Americans who study Japanese and try to correct me😂
