@thetimes: A star Cambridge professor accused of plagiarism and dishonesty quit last night and said he no longer wished to live “under a constant spotlight”. Jason Arday, who was the youngest black professor in the university’s history, resigned after it launched an investigation into him. The announcement came after The Times submitted fresh evidence to the university suggesting that large parts of his research were fabricated and contained “impossible” evidence. Cambridge said there were “a number of ongoing complaints” about his academic research under investigation. He is also accused of exaggerating his sporting and fundraising achievements, including claims that he ran 300 miles in three days, raised more than £5 million for charity and installed pumps for WaterAid. Arday did not respond to any of the allegations of plagiarism or misconduct, nor address any of the other claims he is said to have made. He has previously denied plagiarism, and has denied academic fraud in an interview with The Times #jasonarday #cambridge#professor #uknews #academic
