Damn VW’s, kinda sounds like a piston was hitting one of the spark plugs and a peice broke off and is now being chewed up like hubba bubba bubble gum

George Hernandez :
One or more spark plugs might have gotten damaged when removing and broken pieces fell inside the cylinder which most likely destroyed the tip of the new spark plugs and engine has left the chat. RIP

When changing plugs, you ALWAYS hold the new one next to an old one to make sure they are the same. If not, you get this… now, it’s not the end of the world unless a piece of the plug breaks off. The people who think pistons are these weak things that break and die if they hit a valve or plug have never held one in their hands. Just go back and get the right plugs. It should be fine.

Yeah that sounds like something is loose and rattling. If that’s idle it almost seems to slow to be something like, spun bearing, valve-piston contact, or injectors… also kinda sounds like vacuum leak which still points to loose bolt or nut somewhere
