The true church is not determined by the name written above the door, and it is not determined by which denomination you belong to. What truly matters is this: Have these people genuinely repented? Have they truly been born again? Are they obeying the words of Christ? But once the service is over, they continue living the same way they did before, continue following the world and continue living in sin. A place like that, even if it has the word “church” above the door, may be little more than a religious social club in God’s eyes. But there are also gatherings that are very simple, with only a small number of people and an ordinary meeting place. Yet they seriously study the Bible, lead people away from their former way of life, walk the narrow way, and prepare for the Lord’s return. A group like this is what truly belongs to God in His eyes. That is why the Bible warns us in Matthew 7:21: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21, KJV God will not automatically give you a ticket into the kingdom of heaven simply because you belong to a particular denomination. What He looks at is this: Has your life truly been changed? Please remember: The true church is not a group of perfect people.
