Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called it the financial equivalent of a bombing campaign. The naval blockade started April 13. It's working. Iran's oil exports have been cut sharply, inflation is running near 69 percent by IMF estimates, and the crypto wallets tied to their central bank got frozen too. Now look at what Tehran is asking for. Sanctions lifted, frozen assets released, the blockade ended, and war compensation before Hormuz fully reopens. That is not a country dictating terms from strength. That is a regime trying to get paid. Iran is holding a choke point hostage that costs them more than it costs America.
