My friend is the first child. She lost her parents. During her sisters wedding she collected the bride price and all they brought. Divided the spoils amongst her siblings and ignored everyone from her fathers side lmao 😂😂

my dad was good but growing up his family never even looked our way, after he passed away they didn't even check to see if we were alive, mind you, our mom passed years before him. cut to decades later my older sis went for 'list' for traditional marriage and they listed the most absurd and expensive nonsense. we chose to not involve them going forward. after about 7 years my uncle called to ask if my sister's fiance intends to marry her cus he didn't hear back. lol. they'd been married for 7 years with two kids. down to me, the last born, who is celebrating my 5th anniversary this year. He was stunned!😂

It happened to me 😂 no contact with them since my parents got divorced, but my mom insisted I do things properly and my husband's family also insisted the father's side collect what is theirs, just so there would be NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER in the future. That thing is highly spiritual, so my husband side said it doesn't matter how long you haven't heard from them, please let us do this correctly, and we did ❤️
