Three days later, Schuett Global Holdings hummed with its usual busy rhythm—employees hurried through the lobby, comparing deadlines and discussing quarterly projections. Everything appeared perfectly normal. Until— “GOOD MORNING, FUTURE WIFE!” The shout echoed all the way from the elevators to the far end of the executive floor. The whole office froze for a beat—then someone from Accounting cheered loud enough to be heard two rooms over. “She’s back!” “Finally! This place felt way too quiet!” “I missed the daily drama!” Bam looked up from her laptop and grinned. “Looks like she made a full recovery.” “More like overrecovery,” Tan chuckled. “She’s louder than before.” The elevator doors slid open. Miu stepped out in a sharp navy suit—her tie, as always, slightly askew. Her color was bright again, her posture straight, and the moment she spotted Lena heading toward her office, her smile stretched wide enough to crinkle the corners of her eyes. “There you are!” She broke into a light jog to catch up. “Future wife!” Lena didn’t slow her pace. “You’re far too loud.” “I know!” “You’ll wake every floor in the building.” “I wanted to make sure you heard me survived!” Lena’s mouth twitched. “I noticed.” Miu planted herself right in front of her, arms flung wide in a dramatic pose. “Three whole days gone. Did you miss me?” Lena stepped neatly around her. “No.” “Ouch! But—you texted me.” “About necessary precautions.” “About me.” “About your medication.” “Exactly! You were worried.” “I was being responsible leadership.” “Responsible leadership worries about every single employee?” Miu pressed a hand over her heart. “Wow. I’m honored just to count as an employee now.” Lena finally stopped and turned to face her properly. “You are completely impossible.” “And yet…” Miu leaned in just a little, voice soft and teasing, “you still replied.” A faint flush rose on Lena’s ears—barely there, easy to miss… unless you’d spent seven years watching for every tiny shift. Bam saw it. Tan saw it. Half the staff nearby definitely noticed. And Miu? Her grin brightened tenfold. “Oh! There it is.” “What?” “You almost smiled. And you definitely blushed.” “I absolutely did not.” “Denial proves everything!” Bam leaned over to Tan, whispering, “Five minutes. That’s the fastest we’ve ever gotten a reaction. New record.” Inside Lena’s office, Miu strolled right in without knocking—just like always—and set a neatly wrapped paper bag on the desk. “Breakfast.” “I already ate,” Lena said automatically. “Liar.” Lena looked up sharply. “Excuse me?” “You only walked past the pantry and grabbed coffee. I checked.” “…How?” “I asked the kitchen staff nicely.” “You interrogated them.” “I gathered intelligence!” “They betrayed me.” “They like me better.” “They’re terrified of you.” “Fair. They’re also terrified of you.” Lena huffed but untied the string anyway. Inside sat a still-warm almond croissant—and beside it, that ridiculously pink strawberry milk she’d pretended to hate for years. She stared down at them, then up at Miu. “You were sick just three days ago. Shouldn’t you still be resting at home?” “I rested! Honestly!” Miu held up both hands. “Doctor signed off on light work today. Promise.” Lena studied her for a long moment. “Did you finish the full course of medicine? All of it?” Miu blinked. Then her whole face lit up again. “…Why are you smiling?” “I am not smiling.” “You totally are! You’re checking up on me!” Lena immediately looked back at her papers, though her tone stayed soft. “Don’t jump to conclusions. If you collapse at your desk, HR will start asking awkward questions—and I’d rather not deal with the paperwork.” “Sure,” Miu beamed. “Keep telling yourself that.” continuation ➡️ Comment Section ⤵️ #miunatsha #lenamiu #lenalalina #gxg
