Sheeshajune :
We used to teach this way naturally. It was not that long ago that yes, even in the demonized “traditional classroom” we still engaged more senses during learning than we do now. Think about it, popcorn reading/reading out loud, taking hand written notes, learning cursive, saying the pledge, reading the calendar, lunch menu, and seasons, and weather etc. simple play and crafts, etc. everything we did was seeing it, hearing it, saying it, touching it, all senses were engaged with almost everything we did in school and play. The overuse of Technology is to blame for less engagement of the senses. Now kids have to get on an IEP just to get some of these as accommodations that we used to do in the classroom naturally.
