@oasis.app: 89% of “avocado oil” foods failed authenticity testing. A new UC Davis study extracted the oil from 74 chips, mayos, and dressings labeled with avocado or olive oil as the sole oil ingredient, then screened every sample with gas chromatography against Codex Alimentarius standards. The results: - 89% of avocado oil-labeled products were compositionally inconsistent with authentic avocado oil - 93% of avocado oil chips failed, 100% of dressings failed - Failed profiles matched cheaper seed oils, primarily soybean, sunflower, and safflower - 2 of 27 products passed in both lots tested - Retail price was not predictive of authenticity Why this happens: avocado oil costs roughly 5x more than soybean or sunflower oil to produce, and the FDA has no standard of identity for avocado oil — no legal definition of what a label reading “avocado oil” must contain. Results reflect the specific lots tested; sourcing and formulations can change. Full brand-level data, including the products that passed, is on the Oasis app

I just checked your app and you still have all of those mayo brands as good quality? Lately I’m getting complete mixed ratings on a lot of your products or “can’t find info ‘ I’m paying money for an app that seems to have gone down in quality and accuracy

How tf is this allowed? “USDA has no definition”, so they need a definition that says avocado oil has to have… avocado oil? I’m so tired.

I don’t understand how is it legal to clearly mention in the ingredients avo oil yet they use something else. These should be shut down.

False advertisement! Consumers should sue and teach them a lesson for lying. What if people were allergic to what it really was
