Iheme was the chief apprentice, right-hand man, trusted associate, and later co-founder (with Mazi Izuogu) of the Arondizuogu community in what is now Imo State, Nigeria.
Mazi Izuogu Mgbokpo (also called Izuogu Obunukpo or similar variants) was an 18th-century Arochukwu (Aro) merchant, warrior, and slave trader from Amankwu village. Iheme came from Isi-Akpu Nise near Awka (in present-day Anambra State). Historical accounts describe him as an intelligent, hardworking underage boy who was sold or given to Izuogu; Izuogu retained him in his household because of his diligence and enterprise.
Over time, Iheme became Izuogu’s key deputy and head of protocol for his business and family affairs. He was older than Izuogu’s own sons and helped raise and discipline them. He also fought alongside Izuogu (notably helping defeat the Ikpa Ora people) and, after the decline of the slave trade, the two and their followers jointly established the settlement that became Arondizuogu (literally a fusion of the Izuogu and Iheme lineages—Ndi-Izuogu and Ndi-Iheme). The people of Arondizuogu still commonly refer to themselves as “Izuogu na Iheme.”
In short, Iheme started as Izuogu’s trusted servant/apprentice and rose to the status of partner and co-founding father of the community.

Arondizongu na iheme. stories is one of the purest history undiluted, but my concern is this, iheme is a popular name today in ideato Nation, but almost not found in today's Arochukwu communities, why is "iheme" name not popular in present arochukwu. this is what made me believed that iheme owns the land before izuogu visited.
