I'm 61, my 401K has 890K saved. I'm doing 27% . I'm debating if I have enough to retire at 62 vs 65. I'm tired 😩

Now do it with median numbers. Next factor in the overwhelming percentage of workers that don’t have any retirement account setup.

The problem is inflation and Medicare policy changes, which blow out all of the calculations you made when you were 30. This doesn’t include college cost for your kids, elder care for your parents, your eroding health….basically the system is designed to make us homeless

How does this data work considering most people roll the 401k over to an IRA when they leave a job?

"Average" anything is just blah blah blah.
One person with $35 million, and 99 with $0, skews the average to $350k.
