In 2022 I got my acute Laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPR) under control (and hiatus hernia) into remission and have kept it that way since. I have never returned to 24/7 symptoms and being as unwell as I was. -Diet- Acid Watcher Diet strictly for as long as it took (more details on the diet in my bio and the foods to eat in the healing stage) -Gaviscon advance/acidex advance (needs to have 1000mg sodium alginate) after meals and before bed -Smaller meals more frequently -Stopped eating after 5pm 4-5 hours before bed -Sleep on incline and on left side -Alkaline water/spray back of throat with alkaline water if helps soothe - Manage stress/anxiety and mental health, therapy helped me so much to deal with the trauma of the dysphagia and reflux -Time, it takes TIME to heal reflux from being in acute mode for a long time and committing to the above changes meant I would be better overnight but in time it paid off and gave me my life back. It took me 6-7 months to feel and be well everyday again without symptoms but I'd do it again in a heartbeat to never have to be that ill and in pain again. My reflux had been causing havoc for years so it was not going to be better overnight, at the actue stage your reflux will be bad no matter what you eat and symptoms will be 24/7, think of it like a volcano that has already erupted, so it is not going to be better making changes for a few weeks. As a note of reassurance, I didn't have to live so restricted forever but it was necessary to get it under control initially to then figure out what works for me and how to keep the reflux under control. This stage is so important to get the inflammation under control and get it into remission #hiatushernia #dysphagia #hpylori #acidreflux #LPR
