If you are TRULY confident that the choices you are making are the best decisions for you, why do the opinions of other people bother you so much? Hearing a claim as silly and false as “you’re in a cult” doesn’t faze me because I KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is where I belong. Someone disagreeing with me doesn’t suddenly make me question everything I believe. I am a random chick from a small city in Alberta Canada. 😂 Why should MY opinion have that much power over you, ESPECIALLY if you think it’s a ridiculous opinion?? I’m not your friend. I’m not your family. I’m not your bishop. I’m not even someone you know personally. So if you genuinely think my takes are as ridiculous as you claim they are, why let them trigger you? Laugh it off. Say, “I disagree, but whatever girl! Have a good day.” Or… just keep scrolling. 😂 We’re taught in the scriptures that “the wicked take the truth to be hard.” So ask yourselves: Why does this random chick’s opinion bother me so much? Why am I giving a stranger on the internet this much power over my emotions? The world is addicted to outrage. Like why does everyone need to make sure everyone knows they’re offended?? As disciples of Christ, can we stop participating in that?? Don’t let the world’s addiction to outrage become your addiction too. Someone disagreeing with me doesn’t suddenly make me question everything I believe. And that’s something I think we could ALL learn from. But I do think it’s worth asking ourselves: Why does this bother me so much? Why am I giving a stranger on the internet this much power over my emotions? The world is addicted to outrage. Everyone is expected to have a reaction, defend themselves, argue their point, and make sure everyone knows they’re offended. But as disciples of Christ, we don’t have to participate in that. Don’t let the world’s addiction to outrage become your addiction too. You can disagree with someone without being consumed by them. If you’re ACTUALLY confident in your choices, then why are you so quick to take offense when someone has an opinion against it? #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormon #christian #lds #mormonism
