Y’all are forgetting that Gabriel and Nathalie literally asked Marinette to lie for their sake 😭 you can criticize marinette for going along with it, but acting like she randomly decided to deceive everyone and putting all the blame on her is unfair. She was put in that situation because "THEY" asked her to keep the lie. You can hold Marinette accountable without completely ignoring the context of what happened.

In my opinion, Alya is still helping Marinette. Cause personally I have met people such as Alya and they represent what a REAL friend actually is. Personally I've been stuck in bad habits that affected my self but I keep on doing it. Cause lying feels more easy than telling the truth. But those people I'm pertaining may have reminded me in such reactions like Alya here, but it's only a reminder that what you're doing is actually wrong. They're saving you in a way of reminding you (yes even in a harsh way) that what you feel as a comfort thing is actually wrong and affecting yourself. People need an authority figure to remind them that they can't exist on a their own world and have to face reality. In Marinette's case, she has been creating a false reality to Adrien because of the lies that keep on stacking up. Marinette has been comfortable lying and that is affecting both her and her boyfriend. Marinette needed a wake up call that she's actually harming herself and his boyfriend and that is what Alya's doing. She's slapping her on the reality of her actions

i’ve seen so many people hate on mari because she “doesn’t want” to tell adrien the truth, and honestly, i agree that what she’s doing isn’t exactly right. but at the same time, i can understand why she’s struggling to tell him. she has reasons for keeping it from him, and even if those reasons don’t make her decision completely right, they’re still valid. like alya said, marinette doesn’t get to decide what’s best for other people, and i agree with that, but people make it sound so much easier than it actually is. no matter what marinette chooses, someone gets hurt. she’s stuck between telling adrien the truth and potentially destroying him, or keeping the secret and carrying the guilt herself. i really can’t blame marinette for struggling with that decision. she’s literally a teenager who’s already dealing with an insane amount of responsibility while saving paris, and now she’s carrying even more guilt on top of everything else. it isn’t because she’s selfish or doesn’t care about adrien. if anything, it’s because she cares so much that she’s terrified of making the wrong choice. she’s flawed, obviously, but she’s constantly trying to protect the people she loves, even when she doesn’t always handle things perfectly. and i genuinely don’t understand why people put all of the blame on marinette without even trying to understand her perspective. empathy doesn’t mean you have to say everything she did was right. you can acknowledge that she made a mistake while still understanding why she made it. she’s 14, she was forced to witness someone die, and then that person’s final wish was for her to keep the truth from his son, the boy she loves. obviously that’s going to mess with her and make the decision incredibly difficult, especially when she genuinely believes she’s protecting adrien.

Neither of them are right or wrong, they're just 2 teenage girls who can't comprehend the entire situation, and Marinette is especially just trying to navigate it and keep everyone around her safe. You can't blame either of them, I blame Natalie for making Marinette keep the secret, she's the adult in this situation and put Marinette on the wrong path.
