@shaythethey: As apartment prices, rise so will the amount of people living at home. The older generation is also being sucked dry financially. The housing and economic crisis will lead to arise of multigenerational housing, a turning point for the American dream. #housing #unemployment #politics #housingmarket #shaythethey
I would rather die than live with my parents again. I will pay whatever % of my income needed to ensure that

Be careful, I’ve seen people complain that multigenerational homes should pay more taxes 🙄 people hate to mind their business

What would be the alternative for people with toxic/traumatizing families? Homes with friends?

Yup! I moved in with my great aunt. She bought her house in 2012 & mortgage is under $800. I’ll gladly pay that instead of the astronomical prices I was paying before.

This could be damaging if the family has some type of trauma.

I think that’s already happening - my siblings And I had to move back home (5 of us) and my elder sister has two kids that also live there and both my parents. And they said lots of their peers have their kids moving back home

This is why I’m so big on bringing attn to the “crab in the bucket” mentality in the black community. This will soon be reality and we, as a community, will fall further behind economically. But yall ain’t been hearing me the last 5 years. Imma be aight lol

This is a great opportunity to pool resources and redirect energy towards other income streams. I used to help families buy multifamily properties and learn how to manage them in NY, maybe it's time to bring that back. Buying a home, even a multi-unit home is way cheaper than renting adequate space.

It's already happening. After COVID, the amount of younger millennials and Gen z who are back living with their parents skyrocketed.
