90% of people cannot handle a leadership role, such as a manager. It goes straight to their head.

Been with Walmart for going in 11 years and it’s on based on upper management, I’ve been a teamlead since it started and was a supervisor before that and I was that associate who didn’t work in a area that I got promoted to, but my associates said I was going so it’s really based on the people you work with and your attitude

What I don’t understand is why managers never train people, but they want the employees to do it?

Yeah I was a baker and started to help the decorators. I was interested in cake decorating and they knew that but hired someone who said “they have cake experience at home”. She couldn’t even ice a cake…never listened, was dirty and never cleaned up. I left and took an offer at Kroger to be a cake decorator. 8 years later I’m a Bakery Manager

If I’ve learned anything in being at Walmart for over 10 years, DO NOT take a management position 😭

It really depends on individual management. My boyfriend worked at Walmart as a team lead and absolutely loved his job and his coworkers. Got a promotion at a different store, and he would come home from work absolutely miserable every day. WM it’s not a bad company to work for across the board, but their stores definitely are not created equal.

Had an interview and they asked what I would do if I saw someone doing something that is not safe so I said tell the manager about it. Apparently not! So anyone can do dangerous things with ZERO consequences!?

I hate that leads or coaches are not the ones training them...i don't get paid to train people never signed up for it, and they made sure they brought that up around bonus time ridiculous

Its not the company, it's the stores management team that suck. It seems they picked their favorite rather than talent. That is on the stores management.

Why the people that do the least amount of work, always try to get the people who work the most, fired? I had several assistant managers that did this to me. I was doing their jobs better than them and instead of getting a thank you, I got verbally reprimanded.

Has nothing to do with Walmart it literally has to do with the management in your store. Walmart is an insanely great company to work for!

: I worked in the Pet department. We had 18 10 gallin tanks and 2 150 gsllin tanks. My manager up and disappeared and never came back. They promoted somebody from the gun department to run the department instead of giving me the job and told me that you didn’t need to know anything about fish to run the department. First week she killed $1500 for the fish. Second week she killed over $2400 worth of fish. Third week I walked out the day before Thanksgiving. She was fired from the position. six months later.

The same thing happened to me TWICE so I quit 😭 was constantly training people and doing TL tasks 24/7 but their excuse was basically they understand I finish my work every day but talk to my coworkers too much?? Mind you every other TL or coach just sits and does nothing half the day but I got a better job now and I’m happier so everything works out for a reason I guess 😭

I had ONE job that they did this to me and I do exactly what’s required of me now and go tf home. I don’t have anything for anyone except exactly what’s in my job description. And Walmart sucks so this makes sense.
