@dw.africa: The recent boat disaster on Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe remains a major talking point across the country. Police say 94 people have been confirmed dead, while 77 survived the tragedy. As of Tuesday, at least seven people were still missing, with many Zimbabweans now demanding answers about what went wrong. #dwafricasocialmedia #zimbabwetiktok🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼 #harare #zimtiktokers🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼

Life can give you 5 kids & take them all again when you are just watching. Life can also give you one child & allow you to grow old as you watch him grow. The same life can give you a beautiful healthy marriage without children, it can also give you beautiful children without marriage, or give you a beautiful marriage, lots of money & beautiful children that need medical attention consistently, The same life can give you very good academic papers without employment, it can also chose not to allow you to have any papers but allow you to be successful in businesses. We are just part of nature. We will never find answers as to why people die. Death has no religion, no race, no age, no date, no formula, the poor and the rich we shall all die. How, why and when nobody knows. No need to blame people. Life is just a mystery.

pple are saying that boat could carry 20 tonnes at any given time, so the aspect of overload falls by the wayside. but wakaona panotaura madofo ayo Mai Mutsvangwa naGarwe ziva kuti hapana chitsvene chinenge chichitaurwa.

The problem starts with us as Zimbabweans when we begin to normalise situations that are not normal. Take the Honda Fit situation Is it normal? Hell no. But because we have lived through so many difficult situations, we have become accustomed to accepting things that should actually make us angry and demand change. And then you hear people saying, “Chivhayo aripi? Ngavabetsere.” No. Let the man enjoy his ill gotten money. Whether we know where he got it or not is a separate conversation. He is not the government. It is the responsibility of our government to take care of its citizens—not the responsibility of one ordinary citizen who is busy dishing out luxury cars and money to people who, quite frankly, may not even need them. We have to stop shifting the responsibility from those who are actually supposed to serve the people. Charity is a personal choice; good governance is an obligation. As Zimbabweans, we deserve better. We have been called all sorts of names everywhere we go because our people are struggling, yet our leaders seem unmoved by the suffering of their own citizens. The question we should be asking is: When did suffering become normal? When did our people stop deserving better? Zimbabweans are resilient, yes—but resilience should never become an excuse for poor leadership. We can not continue normalising poverty, poor services, economic hardship, and situations that force our people to leave their homeland just to find a better life. Our government should be asking why its citizens are struggling—not waiting for wealthy individuals to rescue them. Let Chivhayo eat his money. Let him spend it however he chooses. But let us also hold our government accountable for the responsibility it was elected to carry. We deserve a country where survival is not celebrated as success, where basic things are not treated as luxuries, and where ordinary Zimbabweans can live with dignity. Let us stop normalising what is not normal. Our suffering deserves attention, accountability and change. Cry my beloved country.🇿🇼
