Replying to @Amanda Mitchell Fun thing about CPT code 90833: It lets you spend more time with your patient, combining psychotherapy (at least 16 minutes) with med management in one session. Unfun thing: Insurance doesn’t always agree it’s justified. To bill it, you need a diagnosis that supports the therapy and documentation of a specific modality used. It’s also a little bit controversial in my state (WI) , with some people who believe PMHNPs can’t use 90833 so I was always scared of clawbacks when I used to use it. And my employers didn’t want me to use it at all 🥲 #psychnp #pmhnp
