the supreme Court has ruled that general crime checkpoints are absolutely illegal and the officer in blue 100% change this from a DUI checkpoint to a licensed checkpoint to a general crime checkpoint all in the same sentence making this checkpoint highly illegal

So dwi stops are legal if they follow certain rules, however holding a sign that says dwi checkpoint ahead is also completely legal. The cops had no right to take his sign or detain him.

His holding the sign and the DUI/safety check point are deemed legal by the Supreme court. The checkpoint must be low intrusion, follow strict guidelines, and be brief in time.
