I’m not sure how much autism plays a role here, but in this situation I was trying to teach him boundaries by saying “no.” We can see similar behaviors in typical children as well, although usually not this intensely. When he gets everything he wants, there doesn’t seem to be a problem, but children can become used to always getting their way, which may lead to bigger difficulties later in life. That’s why he reacts like this when he can’t have something he wants. I’m also trying to teach him to stop and accept it when he’s told “no.” Unfortunately, this process can be painful, upsetting, and exhausting at times. But when he finally succeeds and makes progress, we’ll all be happy and proud of how far he has come. ❤️ #autism #autismawareness #autismkids #autismchild #fyp
